Also consider overclocking the CPU and RAM as it makes a significant improvement in performance also. If your experiencing high temps get a decent quality CPU cooler and clean out the dustpile inside your PC. Otherwise the other issue could be old PC hardware, get "Open Hardware Monitor" here to check if your throttling power while playing (temps above 90 degrees celcius). It's important to completely close and reopen Citra on testing different settings otherwise they may not have an effect. Try some of the other settings under the configuration menu. If this still doesn't solve your issue check if the slowdown is game specific. I don't recommend setting this higher then scaling factor 5xNative (2000x1200). Avoid the "Auto" setting as this can substantially reduce your performance on 4K monitors. Simply increase 2x, 3x etc until your satisfied with performance. Go to Emulation, Configure, Graphics and make sure this is switched to Native 400x240 and see if this solves your performance issue. Next thing to check is your internal resolution in Citra. If your still experiencing the same slowdown regardless if your windowed or fullscreen then your issue is likely not V-sync related.
